President Obama on Health Care Reform at the AMA

Clinton called for it. But while significant individual reforms have been made — such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program — efforts at comprehensive reform that covers everyone and brings down costs have largely failed. Part of the reason is because the different groups involved — doctors, insurance companies, businesses, workers, and others — simply couldn’t agree on the need for reform or what shape it would take. And if we’re honest, another part of …

2 really a four phase program. Establish multiple nonprofit healthcare insurance agencies. Either through government money that is paid back over time or Pvt. donations.like TIAA-CREF. to deal with overcrowding in emergency rooms. Create clinics in Wal-Mart ,target and other drugstores. they would be manned by nurse practitioners. They would deal with cold, flu, stitches ,broken arms, metal fragments in the eye. Raisins up the nose

Yo Hussein, the Massachusetts senate race is all the farther you need to look to see that YOU’VE FAILED ! … take your socialism and get out ! .. maybe Hugo needs a co-dictator to act on his behalf when he’s on vacation or something.

@newdude50 u dont realize that health care is already managed haha thats why there are the problems we face by not allowing competition in the market place you see by having a 3rd party pay the bills aka the insurance companies the prices our bound to go up. Since it is not coming directly out of the pockets of the people. I agree the system we have is broke but this new system will make us broke. We cant even afford this unless we end our evil empire and come home. I dont like socialism

3 then you would have government PSA’s telling people when to use the emergency room and when to use clinics. Then you would allow people to get their prescription drugs from Canada and and possibly European nations. These nonprofits would also allow people to get their surgeries done in India. by approved positions. India’s healthcare is incredibly good and cheap. This would drop the price even further And create more competition.

The status quo is unsustainable. However, neither ms pileoii, nor mr reid, or even mr oblama has the solution. Yes, I understand they want to take the United States in another direction, but taking us over a cliff is not the right direction. We need qualified people in these three government positions and not one of these three are qualified in their current positions.
These proposed Health Care Bills are not the correct answer.

haha if this obama man realized that the reason health care is bad is because it is managed care and not allowing the free market to take its course is the reason why its like it is. Health care is a product not a right

4The Republicans and Democrats would absolutely hate this type of a set up. even though it would be a good way to stimulate the economy and strengthen the middle class in the United States. It would not ensure everybody but what it would do is bring the rates far down. The Republicans are always talking about competition and free markets. They’d have a heart attack that’s a bunch of shit

go obama conquer this big monster!!!

  9. newdude50 Says:

what about someone who has a pre existing condition (and is denied health insurance)? The Insurance companies do not have the right to deny anyone coverage because of pre existing conditions.
Health care is a product but people should not go bankrupt just because they can’t afford health insurance. businesses should not lay off people because they can’t afford to have health insurance for their employees. As Obama said, The Status Quo is unsustainable.

1 well I think national health care is too expensive. My idea believe is much better. What I propose is a nonprofit healthcare company. Or multiple nonprofit healthcare companies for competition sake.these healthcare companies would be the equivalent of TIAA-CREF in the financial world. You eliminate the shareholders and massive government bureaucracy.
